The sides of the coupler don't need to fully cover the frame tube height-wise. As long as you have a 3" wide frame channel to mount to you'll be fine to drill through and bolt on the coupler with some of the frame extending below the coupler.

- Hello Anibal. The Trailer Coupler # C13800 does require 2 bolts for mounting to the tongue. If your trailer only has 1 bolt hole, a second hole will need to be drilled. The mounting holes need to be 3" apart on center. I am not sure how the original coupler was only installed with 1 bolt, but you will definitely need to add a second hole. For hardware I recommend you use the Curt Channel-Mount Coupler Hardware Kit # C25388.

You can technically make the Curt TruTrack fit with an underslung coupler by using longer brackets like the 8" # C17515 or 10" # C17516 but I don't really recommend doing this because the TruTrack wasn't really designed to work with an underslung setup.
